Our Sunshine

Scottie Crafts has a new stash of Prima, so I just had to have some of the gorgeous Lyric range!! I love the colours and the crispness of them. (Hmm.. dont know if that is a good way to decribe them or not. LOL!).
Emma took this adorable photo when they went for a picnic to a local Regional Park. They lay Madison down and the sun was so bright Em put her sunglasses on her and she just beamed!

I have used the #89 Sketchabilities sketch for this layout. Love their sketches! I have put the journalling on a tag at the top, because the bottom right corner of the Lyric paper is quite busy. The background circle is layered with a mask, Distress Ink and texture paste and a Cheery Lynn doily die.

I am also posting this on Southern Girls Challenge - Use some Flair (lace, fabric covered brads and embroidery cotton).

Also! While I am blogging:
Girls from Warkworth  and surrounding areas, did you know we have a patchwork shop opened up?!! Pukeko Patch has opened up in the arcade (where a beauty salon was) and it is awesome!! I just have to share this cool 'Sit me up donut', by Paula Storm Designs, that I made a couple of days ago with fabrics bought there.

It is to sit your baby in when they are learning to sit up. I put little pieces of elastic in the seams to hook rings onto for toys. When they can sit up you make an inner cushion to fill the hole and use as a floor cushion. (I have cut out the inner cushion, but not sewn it up) How cool is that!?

This morning I am off to look after our gorgeous wee treasure while Mum and Dad have a lunch date. Their first timeout together.

Cheers,
Sue :)

I am this big

Bird is the Word is back with challenges! They are always fun to do and easy to combine with another challenge.
So the BITW challenge is "MOMENT"
The sketch I have used is #12 over at Scrapfriends  They have some great sketches and I have to admit that I found this month's quite challenging!

And a little close-up. The word 'Moment' is from an Ali Edwards and Technique Tuesday, tab and stamp set.

I used a Prima mask and some pretty pink sequin waste as a mask. I also used a piece of the sequin waste under the muslin as an extra layer (hard to see in the photo). I fussy cut the photo of Madison.
The filmstrip is a Die-namics die and the butterfly, an ElizabethCraft Designs, from Scottie Crafts.
The 'ME'  and border transparencies and little roller-doodle doily are Glitz and the other papers, Prima.

We have been so pleased to get this patch of heavy rain to fill the tanks and water the garden, but after the second day, we are now over it and ready for the autumn sunshine again!!

Good scrappy weather!
Cheers,
Sue :)

Family

Another one of the gorgeous photos from the Kirsty Pattinson photoshoot gift that Em received on leaving work.
This is an almost 'everything Prima layout'. The sketch is the April BAP, the background paper is from the Divine Collection available from Scottie Crafts. The flowers, wooden embellies, metal trinket, background swirl mask and bling are all Prima. The green colour spray is Dylusions 'Green Lime' and the peach is a mix of Perfect Pearls Interference Red and pink Panpastels.

I used the Color Combos Galore Inspiration Board #238 for my colour scheme. Their challenges not only have a colour scheme, but also Inspiration photos to add to the fun challenges.
I used photo#3 for my inspiration (Burlap behind the photo and flowers clusters as extra). I also took the extra inspiration of metal trinkets from photo#4.

In this part of New Zealand we are getting cooler Autumn mornings, but still endless days of gorgeous sunshine. I think we are still a way off the end of the drought. I am loving the days, despite having to buy in water to fill our empty tanks, but feel for the farmers and gardeners!

Smiley girl

Our wee Madison is now 11weeks old and is sooo delicious!! Nothing melts your heart more than watching a smile spread across her little face. I was on Nana duties while Em went and had a hair cut and colour, so, of course I took my camera with me and captured this precious smile.

And a little close up:

I have used Sketchabilities #88 as the basis and the colour scheme from Prima's April PPP.
I am also posting it in Southern Girls Challenge - use stripes

Have a great weekend :)
