Party Girl

What better excuse than a birthday party to dress up in a little tutu!

And a little close up :)

The sketch I have used is this month's Prima BAP.
The colour scheme is a gorgeous one from Scrapfriends.
I am also putting it into the challenge at Bird is the Word ( she,her he or his)
and Frosted Designs Fabulous Fridays challenge (use your punches). I have used 2 Martha Stewart border punches.

The papers are from the Prima, Fairy Rhymes and Divine ranges. I just love any of the Jodie Lee designs for Prima! You can combine papers from so many ranges and they work. The Prima candy gem crystals have been in my stash for a while. I just love the cute zipper pulls too!

To soften the darkness of the photo background, I sewed around it and then covered Miss Madison with a tissue and sprayed lightly with Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray.
Trying to get the colour and look I wanted for the doily - I sprayed with Dylusions Lime, textured pasted through a Prima stencil, sprayed again with White Linen  (to soften the brightness) and still, not happy, I sprayed with Perfect Pearls Heirloom gold. This gave a little grunginess, but then I needed to spray the corner flourishes as well.

It is perfect scrapping weather today - rain, hail, coldest day this year and the fire going! Wow! Add thunder to that list!

Cheers,
Sue :)

Ist swim!

During May, Once Upon a... Sketch is collaborating with Berry71Bleu for a challenge. Use the sketch and a number for OUAS and then add some chipboard to enter Berry71Bleu. A fun 2 in 1 challenge!

As Emma was a swimmer, she was keen to get Madison in the pool as soon as possible! So Nana went along with the camera to get the first photos! So cute!! I only took about 99!! They will probably ban me next week if I turn up with the camera!

For the background, I started with a piece of white cardstock and sprayed it with Dylusions London Blue and Lemon Zest. Then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Sour Apple to blend the colours and give a little shimmer.
While it was still wet I sprinkled over seasalt crystals and left to dry. They absorb some of the colour and leave a mottlty effect. Brush off all the salt when dry.
The Prima chevron mask and some texture paste completed the background.

I covered the chipboard rings with Tim Holtz crackle paint, Broken China.
Apart from the wsahi tapes and tag, most of the embellies and fussy cut papers are Simple Stories, Vintage Bliss.

Cheers,
Sue :)

You make me smile

I have this layout finished, for the Sketchabilities #90 challenge, sitting on my desk and suddenly, thought "I wonder when it is due by?" Its due in 6 hours! So better get it posted!

If I have time I will come back later and write some notes about the details, but right now I have to go and help Hubby who has just hired a wood splitter for the day to get our firewood split and into the shed!

Cheers,
Sue :)

Sunday Brunch

It was a gorgeous Sunday and the perfect day to go out to brunch with Mum and Dad and Nana! Our first of many I hope! Once Upon a ...Sketch has a challenge this month to include a visible number with their sketch.

And a little close-up!

These gorgeous papers are from the Prima range, Lyric collection, available at Scottie Crafts. They also have the cute Prima wooden flowers, washi tape, flowers galore and the butterfly and doily dies.

Sunshine today! Yay! Had our first fire last night. So cosy! I am off to look after this precious wee thing so Em can go to the gym. So love my snuggles!!!

Cheers,
Sue :)

Adore

I get to have snuggles with this little cutie-pie this afternoon! Cant wait!

I  loved doing this layout! I  am really enjoying the sketches at Scrapfriends. They are very inspiring and just a little bit different.

A little close up:

I know that I am using that cute little 'Elizabeth Craft butterfly die on most layouts lately, but I love it!! It is so delicate.
When I was at Scotties last week I picked up these Prima and TH washi tapes and this Prima chevron mask, so I had to use them! I also used a TWC mini Fleur de Lis template with white paint, behind the photo.
When I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law in Sydney last week, I ha visited one of my favourite shops, down in The Rocks area, the Button Shop. I wanted one of everything, but would have had to mortgage the house! Anyway, that is where the  little hibiscus flower came from.

Cheers,
Sue :)
