I did it - SOS

For someone who wouldn't even put her bare feet on the grass a year ago, Madi has come a long way! She has a real competitive streak and when she saw a group of kids climbing this huge pohutakawa tree, she said "I am going to do it!" We all said that she was too small and it probably wasn't a good idea, but we let her try, thinking she would go a little way and then ask to get down. But, no, she was so focused and determined and reached the hollow, about 10 feet up. She yelled out "I did it! I am so happy!" We all told her that we were so proud of her!!

Sparkle - -D-Lish Scraps

I love the mood board at D-Lish Scraps this month! Perfect for this pic of Madi on her birthday. She had been waiting for weeks to be sung, "Happy Birthday, Dear Madi"! Every grandparent, aunt , uncle or friend who rang or called in, had to sing it to her! So cute!

Epic for Scrap the Boys

My layout for February Scrap the Boys - a sketch by Laura Whitaker.

My son went game fishing with some friends and he came home with this Yellowfin Tuna!
We had 2 nights of the best sashimi and then tuna steaks! So delicious!!

ARTastic -Feb challenge

The February challenge is up at ARTastic! The painting this month is a fun and bright work by Cathy McClelland called 'Green Lorikeets'. Other than inspiration from the painting the criteria is to use 'paint'.
For my DT layout I was inspired by the bright colours, the 'floaty effect' and the birds. For the 'paint' criteria, I have mixed silver paint with gel medium to stencil the bubbles and painted the wooden title and bird.
