Family

Another one of the gorgeous photos from the Kirsty Pattinson photoshoot gift that Em received on leaving work.
This is an almost 'everything Prima layout'. The sketch is the April BAP, the background paper is from the Divine Collection available from Scottie Crafts. The flowers, wooden embellies, metal trinket, background swirl mask and bling are all Prima. The green colour spray is Dylusions 'Green Lime' and the peach is a mix of Perfect Pearls Interference Red and pink Panpastels.

I used the Color Combos Galore Inspiration Board #238 for my colour scheme. Their challenges not only have a colour scheme, but also Inspiration photos to add to the fun challenges.
I used photo#3 for my inspiration (Burlap behind the photo and flowers clusters as extra). I also took the extra inspiration of metal trinkets from photo#4.

In this part of New Zealand we are getting cooler Autumn mornings, but still endless days of gorgeous sunshine. I think we are still a way off the end of the drought. I am loving the days, despite having to buy in water to fill our empty tanks, but feel for the farmers and gardeners!

Smiley girl

Our wee Madison is now 11weeks old and is sooo delicious!! Nothing melts your heart more than watching a smile spread across her little face. I was on Nana duties while Em went and had a hair cut and colour, so, of course I took my camera with me and captured this precious smile.

And a little close up:

I have used Sketchabilities #88 as the basis and the colour scheme from Prima's April PPP.
I am also posting it in Southern Girls Challenge - use stripes

Have a great weekend :)

Life's Journey

I just love the inspiration photo put up as the challenge this fortnight at Challenge Me Happy! Isnt it beautiful?!

Challenge 42

My inspiration came from the hand holding the balloon. As soon as I saw it I knew which photo I wanted to use. Em's wonderful workmates gave her a voucher for a photo session as a gift for her new baby. The photographer was Kirsty Pattison and in this layout I have used one of the many gorgeous photos she took.

Some close up details:

Enjoy the weekend!
Cheers,
Sue :)

Vacation Escape

Sometimes the only way to escape work and the phone, and get time together, is to go away to a quiet place. Jeff and Aimee really enjoyed their quiet weekend together at Hot Water Beach, Coromandel.
This will be one of their last weekends away on their own, as by the end of August they will be parents!
Which, means, of course, that I will have Grandy No 2!! Exciting!!

I used the sketch at Scrapfriends for this layout.

Cheers,
Sue :)

Anything Goes at CMH

Anything Goes at Challenge Me Happy #41!

So here goes...

I have been having fun playing with some of the new Spellbinder dies at Scottie Crafts. If you cut the middle out of the designs, they make gorgeous frames.

We have our son and partner living with us at the moment while they are building. One advantage is, not having to cook every night!! But, it is my turn tonight, so I'd better go rustle something up!

Cheers,
Sue :)

Weekend LO

Looking on the positive of this drought, a near empty water tank and dying garden, is the chance to spend lovely weekends outdoors. Last Saturday afternoon we went down the Mahurangi river with friends on their boat, parked up on the other side of Scotts Landing and had a pleasant wine and barbecue dinner. On the return trip the sunset was beautiful! A very pleasant afternoon!

The challenge at Once upon a.... Sketch, for March, is their sketch + 'Weekend'.
Frosted Designs  current challenge is to use Chevrons.

Cheers,
Sue :)

SGC - Banners

It has been a while since I entered a Southern Girls Challenge. I was on their first DT and they were such a great bunch of girls and have really good challenges suitable for scrappers or cardmakers.  This fortnights challenge is to use banners or pennants on your project. Check it out here.

These cute papers are from the new Fabscraps range at Scottie Crafts. The little doilies are Couture Creations mini and there are a few of the cool little wooden pieces from Prima.
 Have a great weekend!
Sue :)
